Candles

Nothing says cosy more than a book candle! I haven’t tried this one in particular, but any candle is a good choice for me. While some book nerds might have a more sensitive sense, any candle for a book nerd screams cosy reading nook!

Book Box Subscriptions!

I have done a lot of book box subscriptions this year and I found these to be my favorites:

YA – Lit Joy Crate

I love love love Lit Joy Crate and I may slip it into my budget next year. It came with lovely little goodies and the YA books were good selections, right in line with what I usually read! There were a few items that didn’t do it for me, but they’re appealing to such a broad audience, I didn’t have a problem with them. I gave them away to friends (who needs another book related pillow cover?) but overall, they’re a solid box subscription and fairly priced.

Adult – Book of the Month

I was getting this book box subscription frequently, but had to cancel. I might pick it up again next year. It’s a wonderful selection that YOU get to choose from (5 books total) and you can pay extra to get a past BotM book at a discounted rate. The selection is broad and I usually wanted to buy more than one book a month from them. In fact, I have a few on my To Read Pile only because they suggested them.

Kids – Rally Felt Box

I just started this box so I don’t have a lot to say about it but I wanted to mention it because it is so wonderfully unique. You get felt characters to tell the story of the book of the month that they choose. This is going to be such a big hit for my daughter, I can’t even tell you. And for me. Because I love reading and felt boards too!

Lively Lines by Jane Austen poster

Someone buy this for me!

I love love love this. Anyone who is a fan of Jane Austen will love this clever and beautiful poster. I have a friend in mind for one already!

Personalized books!

I’m buying this one for my daughter. It’s super cute and I’m a fan of Chronicle’s books.

Also there’s Wonderbly who specialize in personalized books for kids. I’ll be buying a couple from them as well!  I know lots of kids who would love them!

Book Box Sets

This is how they get you. Sure, you already have those books! But you don’t have THAT version! You don’t have THAT box set. They’re all lined up, nice and pretty.

Honestly, I’m a sucker for boxed book sets. I love how they look on the shelf and that they all match. I love having the complete series. I went into B&N the other day and they had a WHOLE section of them on display (for holiday shopping no doubt!)

So here are some lovely book box sets that you should look into for that very very special book person you love.

Scratch Off Book Poster

This is super cute and unique. Perfect for book lovers who love tracking what they read and maybe getting some of those classics and popular books out of the way! (Sorry I couldn’t get a better pic. Visit the site and you can see it up close!)

Bookmarks (There’s No Place Like Home)

I found this one on Etsy and it’s so cute and charming, I had to add it to the list. While I personally gravitate towards simplier bookmarks (plain, thin or magnetic characters), this one is so adorable, I am making an exception. Even if your friend isn’t a fan of the Wizard of Oz, they will love this unique gift!

Book Socks

It gets cold at night, even here in Southern California. So get your loved one some bookish socks to keep their feet warm as they read! I love these from Out of Print. In fact, I love all of their items so you should just buy everything they make. Just sayin.

Amazon or Audible gift cards

I’m sorry but I know, people don’t want to give gift cards. But honestly, I love to receive gift cards. This allows me to buy that book that I’ve been eyeing for FOREVER now. This is especially wonderful if you aren’t super familiar with the bookworm’s library. If you aren’t sure what they have, then for goodness’s sakes. Get the gift card. It might seem too easy for you, but honestly, your book worm will appreciate it.

Time.

I know this might seem silly to some, but being a mom to a toddler, I don’t have a lot of time to read or do things for myself. And what I really want for Christmas is time. I want some time to read for a few hours with a hot cup of tea and a pastry, uninterrupted and guilt free.

So if that important book worm in your life is your partner and for whatever reason, they don’t have a lot of free time to read, consider giving them a day to themselves to read or let them do all the wonderful bookish things they want to do. Book shop runs, unlimited browsing time, etc. It’s totally worth it.
