November 2018 Recap!

Happy Happy December! The year has FLOWN by! FLOWN I say!

Books Books Books

I didn’t buy ANY books in November. Say What!? I know, I hardly believe it myself. But my amazon account doesn’t lie!

I went to the local library a few times, reserving books I wanted to read. I went away for Thanksgiving to Florida (see photos below) but I didn’t have a lot of time to read during vacation. Overall, it wasn’t a very good reading month. I picked up 5 books and haven’t finished any of them. Just one of those months I guess.

I’m hoping to finish a book or two this week. Currently, there’s an audiobook I’m really into and I’m reading a YA sci-fi book that has kept my attention. For the month though, I only managed two books which is UNHEARD of. I’m kinda sad about it. It means nothing has really kept my attention. Oh well.

Last 90 Day Challenge!

If you remember, I’m doing (rather poorly) the 90 day challenge from Rachel Hollis.

I forgot to post about this last month and wanted to give some update on it. The beginning of October was successful but as we got closer to the Halloween party, and the candy, I gave up for about a week. I’m not surprised, but I am disappointed in myself.

November wasn’t much better. And then, Rachel Hollis sent an encouragement email.

It was about promises.

Like how we promise our friends, partners, parents and we follow through. So why don’t we keep our promises to ourselves? And I thought – She’s right! Why don’t we?

So I’m back on the wagon. I’m on a roll now and want to finish strong!

Sometimes, I find myself at 9pm doing yoga quietly in my room. And it’s not a bad thing. I’m scheduling more exercise classes and eating better and drinking more water. The holidays will not get to me!

Knit Knit

OMG, guys. I went to Stitches So Cal with T from NiteLite Book Reviews and it was everything I dreamed it would be! I bought way too much yarn (see pics below). I’m so excited and inspired to start more projects. I can’t wait. I’ve been on Ravelry more this month than ever before and have started stalking some new yarn dyers that I hadn’t heard of before.

I brought two large projects and a small project on vacation with me, thinking I would be able to knit a little bit. I was wrong. I knit A WHOLE LOT! I started a new project (a cardigan for my daughter) and kept knitting on two larger projects. Overall, I am pleased.

Health

I’m okay. I’m currently diving deeper into my levels of anxiety and the whys and whatnots so it’s been uncomfortable facing some things, but of course, I’ll be better for it. A lot of it has to do with me being my own worst enemy (aren’t we all?).

I had some anxiety when I got home from vacation (travel is not my friend) but it calmed down once I got back into my routine. The holiday season ramps everything up too. I feel like I’m really behind on gift buying, scheduling, holiday cards, etc. I have lots of lists. But I keep trying to remember – one thing at a time.

So far,  I am conquering –

Christmas cards (domestic and international)

Gifts

Laundry/Organizing

Wrapping

Stocking items

End of year blog wrap up posts

End of year knitting projects

Letting go of items that are no longer useful

Daughter’s bedroom (toys and clothes purging)

Hygge

I am feeling more Hygge this month, mostly from the cooler weather and the change in seasons. I am wearing robes and wrapping blankets around me. It’s been really nice. I think in December, I’ll be focusing more on staying home and cuddling with the family.

A couple of days ago, we got a very small Christmas tree this year to celebrate. My daughter is old enough now that she enjoyed putting the decorations on. It was pretty special.

That’s all for now! Happy Holidays and stay safe and warm! 🙂
