Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday! Thank you to The Broke and the Bookish for hosting!
This week, the topic is:
Top Ten Character Names I Love or Top Ten Unusual Character Names.
This was super exciting for me because I love names. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I love how they can add so much depth and history to a character. It also can make me not trust or like a character either, if by some chance I know someone with that same name. Of course, that’s silly. But how many times have I read a book where the person’s name was &^% and I just couldn’t trust him!
Let’s go for favorites.Â
Gansey from The Raven Cycle- Old money mixed with rebellious youth. Gansey is short for his full name, but let’s just call him Gansey.
Aislinn from Wicked Lovely series- I love that name. The character, not so much.
Julian Carax from The Shadow of the Wind- the most important name of all in this book as it’s the name of an author whose books are sought after. And then destroyed.
Rieker from The Faerie Ring series- Hidden identity, loner and mysterious. The character too. 🙂
Amelia Gray from The Graveyard Queen series- Doesn’t it just sound haunting and dark?
Matthew Clairmont from All Souls Trilogy- an old sounding name, for a very old vampire
Maxim deWinter from Rebecca- Classic
Any of the funny names The Ward comes up with for the BDB series including Wrath, Xhex, Tohrment, Rehvenge…. I could go on.
The Darkling from The Grisha trilogy- an eerie name for a dark and complicated character
Jane Eyre from Jane Eyre- because how could you go wrong with a classic.
And pictures for your viewing pleasure.
And what is you TTT?
great list. Amelia Gray does sound spooky
Thanks Jenn!
I like the sound of The Darkling. I have the book, but I haven’t got around to reading it yet.

Ooh! I love Amelia! And Julian (though that name makes me think of Unbreathable). Love how you shared the book covers (wish I’d done that!). Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Wow your blog is so pretty!! I love the header! Anyway you have some really cool names on here. I don’t read a lot of fantasy so I don’t come across as many unusual names. I really like Aislinn and Amelia Gray.
Thanks for stopping by My TTT
Thanks for coming by mine, Michelle! And thanks for the compliments!
I love Gansey! And Aislinn too. I love the BDB series but have never really been the biggest fan of their names. I do love Qhuinn, Blaylock, and Vishous though. 🙂
Hi Jess! I love Qhinn and Blay. That last book was KILLER! 🙂
I like Ronan’s name from The Raven Boys better than Gansey hehe
Tabitha, why must we quarrel? 🙂 just kidding. I love all the names actually. Happy Tuesday! Looks like you did wonderfully on your Read A Thon!
