One Day a Dot explores the age-old question: Where did we come from? Where did everything come from?

Starting with one tiny dot and continuing through the Big Bang to the rise of human societies, the story of our universe is told in simple and vivid terms. But the biggest question of all cannot be answered: Where did that one dot come from?

One Day a Dot is a beautiful and vibrant picture book that uses the visual motif of circles as to guide young readers through the stages of life on Earth.

A beautiful story about the universe, you and everything. I loved it. One Day A Dot describes the beginning of our world, how we formed, came from the sea and the challenges we faced along the way. It’s 40 pages of beautiful illustrations and carefully chosen words that encapsulate the large and more complicated story of life on earth.

It is such an achievement to have created such a thoughtful book, explaining some of the most profound questions humankind has, and to make it so easy to teach to children.

These types of books are at the forefront of my radar because of my own toddler, who I’m trying very hard to instill a love of all things STEM. Truthfully I’m awful at Science and Math, and much better at English Lit, but I want her to be exposed more to these subjects and not automatically fill normal gender roles. I was interested in reading this book so that in a few years time, i can recommend it to her! (I have lists of books I want to recommend to her when she gets older.)

That’s why One Day A Dot is so beautiful and powerful. It’s easy to digest for kids with fun and lively illustrations and above all, truth.
