Review:
Annaliese stumbles out of nowhere, hundreds of miles away from home, having been missing for a year. But this Annaliese is different. She doesn’t remember who she is, but she knows that something isn’t right. She knows she has a hunger deep inside her. She knows the real Annaliese is dead.
Then who is she?
LOVED.
Creepy, dark, and wonderfully creative, Another Little Piece is everything a horror book should be. Parts fantastical, scary and gross, the story pulls you closer and closer until it’s hugging you. A warm, tight hug and then it tightens it’s arms and you are unable to move.
Chapters are divided with Annaliese’s poetry, giving us glimpses into the lost girl other than what Anna can remember. I really like seeing who Annaliese was before disappearing. Oddly, it helped me invest in Anna, root for this monster who can’t help be who she is.
Anna creeps me out and as the story moves, I was right with her every step of the way. It took me a few days to read this book because I was getting pretty scared and had to put it down for a bit.
Dex is a wonderful character. He’s not too nice, not too bland, but not a bad boy either. He’s haunted enough to be interesting and the right amount of nerdy.
If you like horror and are craving something different, pick this one up.
