Another month gone!

Feb was a hard month for me. Even though it was short, I felt myself deflated after January and a lot of my resolutions being harder to keep.

Books – Well, I was pretty good except for the two knitting books I bought. Mittens from Around Norway and Slow Knitting had been calling me for a really long time and I was in the mood for some really awesome knitting books. I broke down and bought those two. I have to admit I have been seriously enjoying both of them so far so I don’t feel too guilty about the purchase. I bought The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, which was actually by accident (kinda). I also got two Books of the Month this month, but it was my last month on that subscription so I had a credit. The Broken Girls by Simone St. James and The Philospher’s Flight by Tom Miller. I’m really excited for both of them, but I’m chalking those up to a fluke because the subscription was running out and I had to choose a book or lose the credit. I’ve since closed Book of the Month account which makes me sad and a little relived. I’ve also been using the library. I am wondering what the limit is…

Knitting – Oh the knitting! At the moment, with the baby’s 2nd birthday looming in a couple of months, I’m knitting her a small (not) toy! It’s Hugo the Couch Potato monster and I’m so excited about it. Sure, the legs look a little thick and uneven (hey, it’s my first toy) but I’m really sure she’s going to love it. I’m making it with Hedgehog Fibres’s Aran yarn in the colorway Down By The River. I need to finish this in the next month, but it’s slow slow knitting.

Health – 😉 Well, I’m not doing terribly but not doing well either. I haven’t had a chance to get to WW this month at all (sadly I’ve been super busy in the mornings with the baby because Ironmuffin is running for his LA marathon training) but hopefully I’ll get to go this weekend! I haven’t gained anything but I haven’t lost anything either and I still have roughly 30 pounds more to go. On a more positive note, I did go to a lot of classes this month and have a pilates class to go to tomorrow night which I’m really excited about. I hadn’t realized how much I look forward to it until I wasn’t able to go for a week because of visitors but now I’m back!

Cosy – I’m doing pretty well on this front too. I’ve gone through some of my books and I’ll be posting a giveaway soon (probably mid March). It will include a few middle grade and a lot of YA and adult books. I’m anxious to get them out of the house and create more open space.

Friends – Book club was last night and it was so much fun. We read The Immortalists. I’m still in the middle of reading it actually, but should be done by the weekend. It’s always nice to have a good book club and catch up with friends. And there was ice cream!

Well, here’s hoping March 2018 is better. There have been some other challenging things this year already but I’m hoping it’s all over and all of the good karma is coming our way! 🙂
