Oh Nigella. You are one of my favorite chefs. The book “How To Be A Domestic Goddess” is one of my favorite baking books ever. I have made many recipes from that book, and if you know me, that is quite a feat.
So this express cookbook caught my eye and I had to get it. It’s beautiful, with lots of savory pictures of food and a good variety of different recipes.
I find her little notes along with each recipe charming.

Recipe: Buttermilk Roast Chicken
Easy, quick and delicious!
I used organic free range chicken legs (splurge!) and had enough buttermilk left over to make Buttermilk Cornbread! Relatively inexpensive too! (if you used regular chicken.)
Did I mention how quick this was? The Stove Top Stuffing I served with it took longer than preparing the chicken!
Next time I will probably try using chicken breasts. I’m more of a white meat kinda girl.
But overall, very successful! The chicken wasn’t dried out. It was soft with a mild buttermilk taste.
Tasty and a very fast and easy cooking experience. I like it!
I took the rest to work with me for lunch and my friend and I enjoyed it re-heated.
The recipes she has for steak, lemon pasta, and white bean mash go GREAT together. And roqueamole with chips right before dinner. Mmm Mmm!
i recognize that maple syrup! mmm and i love buttermilk chicken and nigella. love these fun posts!
