On Christmas Eve five years ago, Holly was visited by three ghosts who showed her how selfish and spoiled she'd become. They tried to convince her to mend her ways.

She didn't.

And then she died.

Now she's stuck working for the top-secret company Project Scrooge--as the latest Ghost of Christmas Past.

Every year, they save another miserly grouch. Every year, Holly stays frozen at seventeen while her family and friends go on living without her. So far, Holly's afterlife has been miserable.

But this year, everything is about to change. . . .

This was the most charming book and perfect for the holiday season.

I loved Holly’s journey and how she matured from the awful girl she was into a young woman who is taking her own destiny into her hands and trying to be a better person.

All of the characters are fun and of course there’s chemistry between her and a certain Scrooge. But that doesn’t really overtake the story and the plot really focuses on Holly and how she grows as a person.

I especially loved Boz.

I read it while I was home with my parents during the holidays so it was the perfect time for this read. I’m a big fan of Hand’s other books and this one didn’t disappoint. I think it was a little long for the story and it’s predictable in, of course, a Christmas story sort of way. But it didn’t detract the charm or heart of the tale.

I might have gotten misty eyed at the end.

Maybe. A little.

No. You’re crying!
