Review:
Annie and her mom start fresh in Los Angeles, her mom becoming a make up artist to the next hot young star Graham. But what Annie doesn’t expect is falling for Graham, or what happens when you fall for a celebrity.
Part Taylor Swift video, part Notting Hill, Map to the Stars is a light and fun story about an everyday girl falling for the fictional version of Zac Efron. Annie’s mom is hired as Graham’s make up artist and her and her daughter are swept around the world by Graham and his team. Graham is a product of his mother, his publicist, his people. And when he meets Annie, he realizes that this is a rare time when he can just be himself.
There’s a lot of cuteness here. Graham is cute and nice and famous! And Annie is a little snarky and tough. She’s a bit of a silent pushover, not really able to address the things that bother her, mostly her family issues. I really like the insider drama of Graham and what it takes to be a famous teenage heartthrob. It was really interesting and realistic, probably because Malone has been living in that world. I did feel like the characters were a little flat for me and the ending was a bit too wrapped up.
If you like contemporary fiction and would like to read a fun, super fast YA romance, this might be for you.
Oh, this sounds just like my type of read! Great review!

I have a copy of this book on my Kindle but I haven’t read it. It sounds like a cute and fun read. Sucks that the characters don’t have more depth though.
This sounds like it might be a fun read. Sometimes wrapping everything up can be a good thing. It seems like everything is at least a trilogy these days.
I LOVE your comparisons to Taylor Swift and Notting Hill. I get such a good idea of what this book is like. Thank you for a cool review. 🙂
