There are a lot of nice touches to this cosy book.

A wide variety of projects and some fun history thrown in, the book maneuvers easily through recipes, a game and crafting. I also like that many of the projects have to do with upcycled items, which I think is useful but also seems very Scandanavian.

I wasn’t keen on the layout. Sometimes projects or recipes started in the middle of the page. This is just my personal preference though. I’d like things to start on a new page and keep it all together. Sometimes I felt like I was reading one long run on sentence.

Also, the photographs didn’t really draw me into the projects.

I found some of the instructions for the crafting projects to be a bit vague. Yes, I know we should hand sew this part together, but what if someone hasn’t hand sewn before? Any suggestions or tips or a little more clarification on needles or where to find additional instructions?

Overall I think it’s a nice collection of fun holiday projects for anyone who is interested in Scandinavia to look at. The crafts are relatively easy and the variety of recipes seem delicious. I mostly enjoyed the sprinkled history of each dish or personal story the author wove through the book.
