Let’s face it, the past couple years have been kinda shit.

I’m not saying 2022 won’t also be bad, but I’m really hoping we’re turning the corner. At least, over here, we’ve happily felt that it’s been a little better.

We’ve had lots of family in town recently which has been fun and felt a little more normal after two years. We’ve also done some traveling and taken some much needed time off from work.

We’ve had both sets of grandparents in recently which has been honestly an absolute thrill for my daughter. After over two years of not seeing them, we’re so grateful we were able to get together again.

We went to Descanso Gardens for their Enchanted exhibit which was lovely and totally worth it.

We also finally made it to Disneyland. It was my daughter’s first trip and it was generally successful with only one early meltdown the first morning. Otherwise she was a trooper.

The new Star Wars ride was amazing and Hubby and I really enjoyed out time there. I can see why adults go back to Disneyland and it’s open until midnight which gives adults some time to ride the rides without a lot of kids.

I finished knitting a sweater for her which I’m really proud of because I got it done in about a month.

And this coming year I’m focusing on reading and reviewing a good chunk of review books this year. I want to get my Net Galley percentage up to 80% so look out for some older reviews coming this year too! We moved last year so I did end up purging quite a lot of physical books, which has been really freeing for me. I do love my books, but I’m not going to lie when I say it was an absolute delight to let a lot of them go. No more piles of books on the floor for me! (at least, that’s the goal.)

And last but certainly not least, did you see my new bookshelves?? They are genuinely a huge highlight for me, and actually something that was on my bucket list – Custom Made Bookcases! I love them so much. Color is Oval Room Blue by Farrow & Ball.

So happy happy new year 2022. Come on, please be better than last.
