April is my favorite month not only because it has my birthday but also because it holds my daughter and mother’s birthdays as well! (And now my new baby niece!)

Books – I was not so good this month. I bought This Mortal Coil and Traitor’s Blade, both of which I haven’t read but have heard good things about. Honestly, I bought them because I wanted to read them and my local library didn’t have copies. Not the best reason but there you go. I also bought Saga Volume 8. I love that series and that was my own little birthday present to me.

I also bought the below ebooks, all for $4.96 so no, I don’t feel bad about this purchase either)

The Truth About You & Me, Swear On This Life, Under Different Stars, The Upside of Falling Down

I also bought Crazy Rich Asians, which I’m reading for book club and I’m really enjoying. The movie is coming out later this year and I wanted to read the book before the movie is out.

Knitting – On a positive note, I did finish Hugo the Couch Potato Monster! Look at him in all of his grand squishyness! My daughter’s birthday was in April and she love love loves Hugo. I’m really pleased with how he turned out, and that I was able to get him done in time so double win for me! I also am trying to knit a little more because I fell off of it for a few weeks but I need to think about Christmas gifts!

I started a new project which I’ll talk about next month. Hopefully then I’ll have some pictures. And I finished a scarf for my mom for mother’s day!

Cosy – I listened to the audio book Decluttering At The Speed of Life and it really connected with me for some reason. You can find my review here. I was able to do a bunch of decluttering not only with the easy stuff, but also with the harder stuff. I liked that it was a different approach to the way I handle stuff and I was motivated to really take to heart the advice and do some serious damage. I got rid of lots of books, clothes, DVDs, CDs, etc. I feel really motivated but I think I can do even more.

I’m also really thinking about how I want my house to feel. How I want each room to feel when I’m in it and how I want to feel when I’m in that room.

Adulting -I took some good steps this month towards adulting. I met with a lawyer for various things, I balanced my check book. I had a wonderfully small and intimate birthday party for my daughter. Some months are harder than others but April was such a joy for so many reasons. As a family, we were so productive and we’re moving forward together. I am so grateful for my family.
