Review:

Julia and Dave have been best friends for so long they can’t remember when it started. And Dave can’t remember a time he didn’t love Julia. But as senior year closes, Julia and Dave find a list they made four years ago to have the true un-cliched high school experience. And they decide to do everything on the list.

Soooo good. This is my first Adi Alsaid book but it won’t be my last. I loved Julia and Dave’s voices. Their dialogue back and forth and Julia’s personality really made me laugh out loud a lot. I think she was bright and smart and clever. Dave is loyal and good and sweet. And you yearn for Julia like Dave. And you yearn for Dave, like Julia. And then…

I’m not going to give anything away but I really enjoyed this book. It had bittersweet moments, and love and kissing and friendship. It had teenage angst and teenage mistakes and loving parents and absent parents. It had so much warmth and heart and heartbreak. I just finished and I think I’m a little broken. The story goes by quickly and I found myself reading all day, while eating breakfast. And lunch. And having coffee and reading just for 10 minutes before I had to finish errands. Because I was so invested in Dave and Julia.

My teenage heart knows them.

There is so much humor and longing and growing up.

I loved it.
