Hey Friends! It’s been a while and truth be told I’ve been slacking in this blogging department. There’s been a lot of crazy going on over here, but now with the summer winding down I think I’ll have more time!
Today’s question is: What are the oldest books in your collection that you still have not read?
Oooh, that’s a good question. I am slightly embarrassed by this question because I have SO MANY that I haven’t read yet! But I am working on them, I swear! Especially physical books. I’m going through those!
Here are my Top Ten Books I own and haven’t read:
2666 by Robert Bolano
I have this beautiful three book special edition and I have yet to crack it open. I want to! I really do. But everytime I look at it, it’s daunting.
Love In The Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
There is really no excuse as to why I haven’t read this classic yet.
The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie R. King
I love Sherlock and I love to read, so why haven’t I picked up this first book in the series? I’m not sure. I guess I’m afraid to start another series right now and this one is still going!
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
The original, bloody, don’t-hold-back Hunger Games. I have been meanign to read this forever, but something newer and shiner always gets in the way! And that’s a shame because I hear amazing things about this book.
The Way Of Shadows by Brent Weeks
And my copy is signed. This was bought before Borders went out of business but I still haven’t gotten around to cracking it open. Or the other two in the trilogy, which are all signed and I have copies of. Sigh.
Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton
The beautiful cover drew me in but it’s been years and I still haven’t opened this one. I am going to read this before the end of the year though.
Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson
A new compilation of Fairy Tales. I love the cover and the storeis within but I sit down to read story. Maybe I’ll put it on my nightstand so it will stare at me!
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
I bought this when it first came out, the story seemed so intriguing. Now it’s covered in dust and I’m feeling guilty just thinking about it.
Supernaturally by Kiersten White
I love love love the first book but haven’t started the second. Why you ask? Because I loved it so much, I don’t want it to end. So the second and third books are still sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. It’s been so long since I’ve read the first one, I’ll have to go back and re-read. I don’t mind it though.
One Grave At A Time by Jeaniene Frost
Same as this one. The last couple of books I can’t seem to bring myself to finish. I don’t want the world to end! So I just keep them… waiting for me…
And there you have it!
I am going to try to read some of these books by the end of the year. I need to make space!
Thanks for reading! Do you have some of my books on your shelves? What are your oldest books?
