Happy Saturday! Sorry this post is going up a bit late. I was doing a Color Me Rad run this morning and got side tracked by lots of color !
🙂
Question: Do you get blogger burnout? And if so, how do you deal with it?
Answer: Yes! I totally get it. I don’t think it’s very obvious on the blog though because I schedule things so far in advance. But right now, for instance, I have only two posts ready for the upcoming month. Blogger burnout is direct result from reading burnout, for me. I’ve been reading, but it’s been slow. There’s been a lot going on in my non-blogging life so most reading and blogging has taken a back seat.
What do I do?
Today, I’m going to pick up a book that isn’t a review book. I’m going to read a book that I want to read RIGHT NOW.
I go read other people’s blogs and comment. I like seeing what other people are reading/blogging about. One of the reasons I love blogging is meeting new friends and sharing stories and opinions.
And I’m going to do something fun outside. Computer time is really challenging for me. I am in front of a computer for my full time job so the last thing I want to do is sit there again all weekend. I am going to go outside, read outside, run around like a crazy person, get some fresh air. Maybe watch a movie. Do different things!
Only then do I usually feel better and I can go back to blogging. It’s all about balance.
Be sure to check out my fellow bloggers at Reader’s Antidote, Nite Lite Book Reviews and Books Unbound to see how they deal with it!
I agree that sitting in front of the computer is hard since I do it all day at work. Going outside and doing something is a great idea. It’s good to recharge and get excited about reading again.
That sounds like a really good plan. Find the joy back in reading is most important, otherwise you end up hating what you used to love the most. Good luck!
Thankfully I now have two of my best local friends blogging with me so I don’t get burnt out as quickly. It helps knowing at least two days a week are days they will post instead.even just two days makes a huge difference. Yes read a non review book that you want to read right now!! That I think helps a lot. We get under so much pressure to read review books that it starts to feel like a job sometimes.
