Welcome friends to another edition of Shelf Candy!

I’m here to share another wonderful book cover that will make the sugar in your blood spike and your mouth water!

Thanks to Maria at A Night’s Dream of Books for hosting this meme! She has taken it over from Steph at Five Alarm Book Reviews and we’re happy to continue in participating in this fun weekly eye candy!

And now, here we have the Shelf Candy for this week:

The Ruins of Lace by Iris Anthony
Synopsis can be found here.

What a cover!

A hand mirror, a reflection, the cracked class, the lovely lace detail on the left side of the book. Doesn’t it scream romance, mystery, intrigue? I especially love the tones and coloring. The red dress really sticks out as does the lace against the grey and darkish blue background. It makes the book look old, antique. The delicate carvings along the outer edge of the hand mirror really add to the overall visual.

I cannot wait to read this book. I was fortunate to grab a copy of it at ALA this year and will definitely be posting a review about it in September, when the book releases.

What do you think? If you saw this on your bookstore’s table would you pick it up?
