My shelf candy for this Saturday is:
There I was minding my own business and I turn around to see this beautiful cover on the bookstore table. Of course, I had to buy it. I’m not ashamed to admit I knew nothing about this book or of the author when I picked it up. Sometimes, you just see something that calls to you.
The bright, rainbow of colors attracted me first. But looking at the picture, there is so much beauty going on. The stunning starlight sky, the two figures standing at the edge of a cliff, only illuminated by the warm glow of their car’s headlights. The dark blue shadows surrounding them, out and over the edge of the cliff and down under the bright white lettering of the title.
I love it and it is illustration based, which is one of my favorite design concepts. Thank you for sharing it. 🙂
Great cover! It reminds me of a cover I’ve been wanting to feature for the book Marcelo in the Real World. I wonder if they were designed by the same artist? I get what you’re saying, I would’ve picked this one up for its cover alone too!! Great blog and beautiful design! I’m a new follower.
Here’s my Shelf Candy for the week if you’d like to stop by!
Gorgeous book! I haven’t heard of it before but I love the cover. It’s really simple but tells you a lot at the same time!
My shelf candy is here if you’d like a look 🙂
