Review:

A virus has wiped out most of the world’s population. Cities are quarantined and surviving citizens are only alive because of The Company, an organization that developed the cure.
Sixteen year old Clover wants to go to the Academy, but she is rejected and sent to work for The Company instead. Once there, she realizes that some things don’t make sense, like the death sentence she has found about her brother, West. West would never hurt or kill anyone. But the future is pre-determined, isn’t it?

Wow. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with this one. It’s party dystopia, sci-fi, time travel all rolled into one. A friend of mine said it was good and we have similar tastes so I thought I would try it.

I’m so glad I did.
Addicting, thrilling and fun, Viral Nation twists the usual stories of dystopia and comes out with something new. Something different. The crime portion reminds me of Minority Report, time travel loops, changing the future. The dystopian aspect and the cure is scary, mostly because of the way it seems like it could be very real in today’s world. One company that designs the cure is the only company left. They are the be all end all of your new world. And what if they have it out for you?

I really enjoyed reading this book. I was happy to pick it up every time, fumbling through pages slowly, eager for the next words.

I liked learning about Clover. She’s a sympathetic and sweet character. All of the characters seem well crafted, with just a little bit of peeking at what is beneath the surface.

My only gripe- how long do I have to wait to read the next book?!
