Review:

Elle and Kingsley each tell their stories of the year they were apart from each other. Kingsley traveled the world and met Juliette. Elle ran from Soren to her mother, a nun n a convent. And what happened that year changed them forever.

I liked this installment in the series. I think it’s easy to be lazy in a series this long but Reisz keeps everything fresh and sexy. I especially loved Kingsley’s story of how he meets Juliette. I never had a great sense of who Juliette was as a character – she’s mostly in the background for the previous books. But this book brought her front and center. it’s easy to see why Kingsley was so taken with her. Of course their relationship is filled with obstacles and romance. This is the first time I’ve thought Kingsley and Juliette were a wonderful couple. Again, I didn’t have a really great idea on who she was, and it’s hard to beat Soren in any of these couplings. But finally, I get it!

Elle meets a beautiful virgin at the convent and let’s just say that things heat up pretty fast. I love Elle’s journey though this book. She finally discovers and accepts that she’s a switch, not just a submissive. She finally stands up to Soren and walks out on him, leaving him heartbroken. Don’t get me wrong – I love them together. They are my favorite couple. But sometimes even the priest needs a smack down.

Reisz doesn’t disappoint in this new book. There’s plenty of the humor we expect from Reisz as well as the hot scenes and tender romance. I like diving into the characters’ pasts. More importantly, between the stories she gives a glimpse of all of their futures together. And it’s satisfying!

Check out this new one if you’ve read the other books in her series.
