Review: 

Hesketh is good with patterns, numbers, thinking in a different way. He has Asperger’s Syndrome, which makes him unique. He may be the only one who can figure out why the world’s children are suddenly doing violent, deadly things to the adults. When an incident hits too close to home for him, Hesketh is racing against time to see the patterns, figure out why before it’s too late.

I didn’t know what to expect reading this book. Psychological Thriller and Dystopian Nightmare rolled into one. I really like Hesketh’s voice. His narration is unique and can be very funny in his awkward observations. He sees the world around him differently and is somewhat detached, which works really well for the story. He is on the outside, he is an observer to these horrible senseless crimes. So much fear and possible explanations are rooted in folk tales, the paranormal. Can Hesketh believe?


I don’t want to give too much away.

The violence is harsh and cruel, but I was unable to put it down. I read through this book a lot quicker than I thought I would.
And then, by the end, when you have a grasp on what is going on, what this is all about, what these crazy children are after… it’s so horrifying, you wish you didn’t.

I’ve never read Liz Jensen, but looking forward to again.
