Review:

Prince Henry didn’t ask for this. This being the crown. His brother Nicholas was supposed to be king, until he fell in love with an American and abdicated the thrown. Now this crown is being held for him, who never paid attention to politics. Who didn’t want to be a King. Who has his grandmother the Queen breathing down his throat and why can’t he just be himself? Have fun?

Sarah’s the shy and sweet bookworm librarian who snares his heart and won’t let go when Henry decides to host the television reality show Matched in his castle. She’s not a contestant, she’s there to look over her sister who wants to meet people in Hollywood. Then they fall for each other. It’s sweet and subtle and romantic. Henry, who throws his words and himself around like a wild bull, has to reign it in for Sarah, who is a lot more gentle and quiet.

I really enjoyed the reality tv show aspect, it was a lot of fun. Henry’s voice actor is AMAZING and his deep voice totally made me swoon. Sarah’s voice actor was also incredible. She was shy without being spineless and their acting really grabbed me. It made my commute much more enjoyable. Though I don’t know if I ever hear Henry’s voice again, I won’t immediately think of this character!

The story is fun and romantic and sweet, but also a bit bland. There’s not a lot of twists or turns or big revelations that come out and it’s pretty cookie cutter format, which isn’t bad. I did feel disappointed in the ending though. It was supposed to tie up their characters and some long internal struggles they have, but it felt just like a whole lot of needless endings that weren’t necessary.

Overall, I think a lot of romance readers will enjoy Royally Matched for the fun reality tv aspect, the spot on character narration voice actors, and the romance.
