Review:

I’m sorry, but are you a hot blooded female? Then why haven’t you started reading Tiffany Reisz yet? For shame!

If you’ve visted before, you know my love for Ms. Reisz. Indeed, I fell in love with her writing and storytelling in her debut The Siren and have been hooked ever since. I have since convinced numerous friends to read the series and they all came back with the same expression: WOW.
So of course I jumped/hopped/skipped at the chance to read this ebook novella!
And it was fun!

Misbehaving is a fun, sexy ride. The heat between the two main characters is heavy, but the best part is the funny dialog. Not only between Bea and her love interest Ben, but also between Claudia and her fiance Henry. Bea reviews sex toys/books for a living, posting them on her blog. Little does she know, the boy who broke her heart all those years ago reads her blog, imagining the girl who got away. And the week of Claudia’s wedding is the perfect time to do a little book review. Of course, she’ll need a partner!

Given that I’m a fan of Reisz and have read everything else she’s written, I am still blown away (no pun intended) of her effortless writing style, evoking fun innuendo, sharp wit and overall, a sense of fun in the bed with a sweet tint of love. Balancing all of these things in erotica is challenging, as most swing for more emphasis on the sexy scenes. But Reisz always makes the story fun and that adds loads to my enjoyment of the book.

It should also be said that if you have read Reisz before, this is no where near as scandalous as her Original Sinners series. I’m not saying it’s purely vanilla, but it’s probably a great intro to erotica if you haven’t read it before, or if you’re not sure you can handle Nora and her friends in the Original Sinners series.

Overall, a fun novella that will get your heart pumping!

And now
Q&A with Tiffany Reisz!

Author Picture

Tiffany Reisz lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her boyfriend (a reformed book reviewer) and two cats (one good, one evil). She graduated with a B.A. in English from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and is making both her parents and her professors proud by writing BDSM erotica under her real name. She has five piercings, one tattoo, and has been arrested twice.

If she couldn’t write, she would die.

1. What can you tell us about the prequels to The Siren, The White Years?
You’re gonna like ‘em….I think The White Years books will surprise you. These aren’t just backstory books. They’re full-fledged erotic adventures. In The Red Years you see how devoted Nora and Kingsley are to Søren. In The White Years you find out why. You also learn how/why Eleanor became Nora and how a nobody exile from The French Foreign Legion became the King of New York’s Kink Underground. Plus you get to meet the first generation of Sinners, the first people to play in The 8th Circle, and learn about people our Unholy Trinity have loved and left behind.

2. What actress would you imagine playing Nora in a film adaptation of The Siren?
The actress I picture as Nora is Rachel Weisz. Rachel, as gorgeous as she is, is ten years older than Nora, however. Whoever plays Nora would have to be as funny as she is sexy.

3. What are you working on now that is outside of The Original Sinners world?
Nothing at the moment. But I do have a fantasy series planned. Just have to write it.

4. Are there any characters you’ve written that you thought would become one kind of person and then changed into someone else?
When I wrote The Siren, I had no idea that Kingsley would turn into such an important character. It wasn’t until The Angel when I constructed a backstory for his relationship with Søren did Kingsley become a full-fledged character for me. After writing book six, The King, he’s absolutely stolen my heart. The Original Sinners wouldn’t be half as fun as it is without my dashing olive-skinned, dark-eyed, nymphomaniac Frenchman.

5.  All of your characters are so varied in their professional lives, and in bed. What kind of research did you do to create such complex characters?
I don’t do much or research when constructing characters. I research facts (how much does such and such car cost, how does this type of flogger feel on bare skin, etc), but my characters come from my brain, not the real world. I’m telling stories, not writing biographies. Characters who are hyper-realistic can also be super-boring. I didn’t research dominatrixes before writing Nora. I imagined any woman who worked in that profession would have to be highly intelligent, strong, slightly amoral, and have a great sense of humor, because of all the absurd things they see and do in their line of work (Example, one dominatrix I know told me of a client of hers whose fetish was to have rubber ducks thrown at his naked body. How do you not giggle over that?)

6. Do you outline your novels?
I do outline them but I never stick to my outlines. However, I need the outline to get me started. An outline is a map. When you’re on a trip you need to know where you’re going, know how to get there, but always leave room for spontaneity.

7. How do you take your potato?
I like my potatoes like I like my men—hot and covered in butter. Wait. What?
