Review:

Kristen Callihan cements herself as one of my favorite writers.

Eamon Evernight , the younger brother of his good looking and too good to be true awesome brother, is a red headed shy guy who has a power no one can imagine. When his brother is betrothed to a beautiful woman, site unseen, Eamon is given the task to dissuade her from marrying him through letters. But in the end, this woman and Eamon fall in love with each other. Of course, the bride to be thinks Eamon is her betrothed.

Fast forward years later, and though a series of circumstances, Eamon has a chance to win the heart of his beloved. But will his secret tear them apart? And what exactly is she hiding? Because Lu has a dark history as well…

Love Love Love

Eamon is sweet and beaten down. He’s the underdog that you would root for in the movie, the guy who never gets the girl, the puppy that is always kicked. But that doesn’t make him bitter or mean. No, Eamon holds onto his heroic charm, his sweet disposition. Lu, the betrothed is beautiful and funny, witty with words but hiding a dark secret. She is at the mercy of the men in her life, first her father, then her betrothed and now Eamon. But Lu doesn’t shrink back. She has some passion, some drive and it’s easy to see why Eamon and Lu are drawn to each other.

A short novella, I gobbled it up in one sitting. The romance heats up slowly and my heart strings were pulled. I loved the characters, Eamon’s gift and the creativity that Callihan puts into each one of her stories.  I only wish it was longer. But I’m glad it’s out now because it gives me something to re-read until book 4 in the Darkest London series arrives next year!
