Review:

Obsessed I tell you!

You must read book one for any of this to make any sense (and book one is pretty awesome too) but let’s just assume you’ve read the first book, The Poison Princess, and we’re all caught up together.

Cool?

We begin book two exactly where book one has left off. E.V has discovered her powers, and some powers!, and she might have just taken out a Major Arcana. Might have. Just saying.  With more on the way, her power drained, they flee, with a very confused Jackson in toe. The war has begun, the players are getting ready to strike and Death is within reach. Heightened danger and boom! Death is there, carries off our Empress, leaving Jack and company behind.

But that’s not all kids. Because Death has a few tricks up his sleeve.

So, I MIGHT have gone out and bought book two before I was done with the first book because I was enjoying it so much and I had to know what happened. Now what? Serves me right! I have to wait an entire year for the third book to come out. <hangs head in shame> Why, Publishing Gods? WHY?

Anyhoo, highly enjoyable. There’s a lot of steamy scenes between Jack and Eve AND Eve and Death! (Wait, what?!) Death is a great second love interest. He’s so different than Jack it’s hard to decide which one you want her to end up with. Cole’s writing is fantastic in this series. She’s created a complicated plot with a lot of characters who move flawlessly over the board. It’s easy to tell she’s a skilled writer with a lot of experience. Some scenes will break your heart and others will leave you panting. I loved every page of it.

In fact, you can imagine my horror (horror I tell you!) when I realized I left my book at home that day and wasn’t going to be able to read it during lunch.

No joke. That was me.

Anyway, some serious chemistry and heat going on through the whole book. You think New Adult is hot? Try a YA series written by a seasoned Romance writer. DAMN! The story moves fast and too soon, book two was done. A lot happens in this story and honestly, I don’t know how the writer is going to wrap everything up in the last book. There are so many storylines going on and still lots of characters we have yet to meet. I’m not going to give anything away, but wow. This girl is in a pickle. And by pickle, I mean stuck between two gorgeously hot, different, sexy men. Sigh. So sad for her.

Can you tell how excited I am by this series?

Now what does a girl have to do around here to get her hands on Book Three?

Rating 9 Ridiculously Awesome like Cookies and Ice Cream
