Sam Kovac and Nikki Lista are homicide detectives called to an almost unbelieveable crime on New Years. An almost unidentifiable teenager is found in the center of the road, having been run over after she popped out of a moving car’s truck. The media has stared to refer to her as Zombie Doe. Who is Zombie Doe? And where did she come from? Kovac and Lista begin their investigation, turning over stone after stone until the brilliant finale.
This is such a great book. This is my first Tami Hoag and won’t be the last. This is the fourth book with Kovac and Lista, but don’t let that stop you. Hoag eases you into their world and by Chapter two, you feel like you’ve known them forever. I love the dark humor, the quick dialogue and the inner demons each detective faces. All of the characters were so full of life, direction and purpose. It’s what a good mystery book should be.
And let’s not get me started on the plot. Wow. There are a lot of sub stories going on but all of them were intriguing, drawing you deeper and deeper into their world. Loved every bit of it. I stayed up late into the night to keep reading, until I fell asleep with my kindle on my lap. I wanted to find out what happened and I couldn’t stop thinking about poor Zombie Doe either.
By the end, you’ve been on such a ride, you think you know what happened. You think you know who did it. And I was still surprised.Great writing, fast paced story. Read it when you have a good chunk of time- because you won’t want to put it down!

Of course I follow you ..you nutcase! Ok so I REALLY want to read this book. I reviewed the short story for them – you know the prelude to this and really liked it. I don’t read as many mystery thrillers anymore cause I went thru that phase quite a few years ago. But they are starting to creep back in on me. I loved the short. I especially love ones featuring serial killers. I love their twisted demented minds! Sick am I you say? And of course I prefer Mystery fiction because….I don’t like reading about the True Crime…I get enough of that watching the news – so I don’t like knowing what I read really happened to someone its just hits too close to home.

I would rather read mystery fiction. It leaves the writer the option of giving the reader many ways to explore the story. True crime is all over the news and we here about so many horrible things. Fiction is a way to escape which we all need to do sometime.

I prefer reading mystery fiction rather than real life crime books. Real life crime is far too creepy and depressing.

I love reading mystery fiction. But I can not stand to read real life crime. It freaks me out to think it happened to real people, it bothers me so much I can’t get it out of my mind. I am a big fan of Tami Hoag’s, I just love her books. Thanks for having this giveaway.

Mystery fiction. I don’t like true crime novels… they freak me out. Especially if they are like Unsolved Mysteries where they ask you to tell them if you’ve seen the perpetrator. o.o If I see him I won’t be calling I’ll be running!
I like real life crime novels i find myself much more interested in the story after i know its based on actual events.
I prefer mystery fiction because real life fiction is just a little bit creepy/scary. And fiction is just more fun because of all the plot twists and everything.
