Ask anyone that knows me, and if I go into someone’s house, I immediatley browse their book collection. A book collection can tell a lot about a person- sometimes their inner most secrets!

How the books are organized, what kind of shelving do they use? Alphabetical vs. color? Size vs. genre? Non-Fiction vs. Fiction?
The possibilities are endless when it comes to book organization!

For fun, I asked some of my friends to take pictures of their book shelves and write little blurbs about them.
I’ll be featuring these for the next few weeks & next week I’ll put a linky tool at the bottom of the post so you can link up to us!

Now onto our first Exploring the Bookshelf!

Welcome Nicole from The Reader’s Antidote. Take it away Nicole!

The first thing I do with my books are put the ones that I’m going to read soon on the desk beside my bed. It helps me keep organized with the ones that I think I’m going to read first. Of course, that doesn’t always stay the same, but I try to stick to this pile first as much as I can. Right now there are more there than usual, but I’m just excited for so much!

This is my main bookshelf, which is in the small hallway in my room. The shelf on the left is my to-be-read pile. And you see those stacks in front of the books in the actual shelf? Yeah, those are TBR as well. The top of this part of the shelf are books that I want to read soon, and then as it goes lower, it’ll take me longer to get to those.
The right side is full of books I’ve already read. This half of the shelf is a lot like the left half: At the top is books that I loved (like the Hush, Hush series, Cassandra Clare books, the Shade series, etc.), and as the shelves get lower, I liked the books less. Some of the books on the bottom I haven’t read yet but they fit a certain way on the shelf so I just haven’t moved them.

This is the final bookcase. Yes, it’s almost over. On the top of the bookshelf are books I’m giving away and some books I haven’t read yet. And the rest of the books are books that I may just end up donating because either I read it and thought it was okay, or I haven’t read it yet and I’m not sure if I’m going to get to it or not. This is also where my Harry Potter books sit.
Thanks for stopping by Nicole!
