This is another mini-challenge for Bloggiesta! This is a challenge set up by Girlxoxo! You have great ideas and I’m looking forward to doing more posts like this in the future.

A list of my top ten favorite books read in 2012, so far! It was hard coming up with this list, and there were a few close calls.
If I did a review, they are linked up to the titles.

In no particular order:

Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness Takes my breath away. I fell in love with Matthew, his world, his love of wine and beautiful surroundings. In fact, this book was for a book club and my girl friends and I had the biggest appetite for red wine afterwards!
Well written, mysterious and lots of fun.

Firelight by Kristen Callihan– Romance! Drama! and Fire! A beauty and the beast story I couldn’t put down. Miranda is the girl to root for and Archer, handsome, mysterious and cold Archer is …

The Siren by Tiffany Reisz (erotica)- Nora and Zach, the anti love story. Soren. Wes. Michael. Grace. A truly hot, steamy and emotionally complicated love story about who we are and who we choose to become. Uncomfortable, edgy and guaranteed to keep you reading all night.

Wonder by R. J. Palacio– A beautifully written book of Auggie, a very intelligent child with a face deformity. Auggie’s narration, struggles and triumphs left me speechless for days. A must read.

Scarlet by A. C. Gaughen– Robin Hood and his band of merry men include young Scarlet, a feisty girl masquerading as a boy. This is a fun retelling of the story.

A Tryst With Trouble by Alyssa Everett– I don’t think this is out yet. I got my copy on NetGalley, but I have heard since the publisher went under and I believe another publisher will hopefully be putting this out soon.
But when you see it, grab it! A murder mystery, a love story, sibling rivalry, steamy romance, this book has it all!

Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig– Miriam Black, I wish I could meet you in real life. And then I would probably run away. When Miriam touches you, she’ll see how you’ll die. She can’t help it. She can’t change the course of events. Or can she?
Very dark and delicious. I loved Miriam’s attitude problem, fierce survival skills and madness.

Forever by Maggie Stiefvater- Perfectly wrapped up, Forever is book Three in the series.

The Restorer by Amanda Stevens– Book One in the Graveyard Queen series.
Why haven’t you started reading this yet?
A deeply creepy ghost story that will make you pause before driving by a cemetery.

Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter– Book Two in the Goddess Test series.
Loved more than book one, we follow Kate and Henry through more trials and challenges including finally meeting the elusive Persephone, first wife of Henry, Hades. Danger is everywhere and the gods don’t play fair.
