Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight

3. Most Surprising (in a good way!) Book of 2013
The Assassin’s Curse and The Pirate’s Wish by Cassandra Rose Clark- I wasn’t expecting such an amazingly creative tale of adventure. It made me laugh out loud.
Or The Poison Princess or Endless Knight by Kresley Cole- I mean, I should have read these a lot sooner!

4. Book You Read in 2013 That You Recommend Most in 2013
Me Before You by Jo Jo Moyes– I made my book club read it when it was my turn. Tissues for everyone!

The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater – can’t get enough of these books

6. Favorite New Author You Discovered in 2013

Ender’s Game– I usually don’t read Science Fiction. Sadly, it wasn’t for me.

11. Most Memorable Character in 2013
Hard to say! Vlad from the Night Prince series by Jeanine Frost. Or Sturmhond from Siege & Storm by Leigh Bardugo. No, wait. It must be my favorite villian, Adair from The Taker series by Alma Katsu…

12. Most Beautifully Written Book Read in 2013
This is really hard for me because I found so many of them to be amazingly written.
Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn orΒ Where The Stars Shine by Trish Doller or The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater or The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Milay… so many to choose from

13. Book That Had The Greatest Impact On You in 2013
There were so many, but probably Me Before You because it was so emotional. And books like Assassin’s Curse and These Broken Stars and Th Sea of Tranquility, books I could not put down!

14. Book You Can’t Believe You Waited UNTIL 2013 to Finally Read!
Watership Down by Richard Adams

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read in 2013
“If you’d asked me an hour before, I would have said no, I did not remember the way…But standing in that hallway, it was all coming back to me. Memories were waiting at the edges of things, beckoning to me. Had you told me that I was seven again, I might have half0believed you, for a moment.” – The Ocean At The End Of The Lane (Gaiman)

16. Shortest & Longest Book You Read in 2013
I don’t know. I’ll probably read The Passage soon so that will probably take the cake, but that’s next year!

17. Book That Had A Scene In It That Had You Reeling and Dying To Talk To Somebody About It?
Me Before You by Jo Jo Moyes

18. Favorite Relationship From A Book You Read in 2013
Natsya and Josh from The Sea of Tranquility– I cannot wait to re-read this book. I was in a bet with some friends and I broke my book diet for this book. I went out the next day and bought a physical copy of it so I could easily flip to my favorite scenes. Yes, I am that sucker.
Or Traver and Lilac from These Broken Stars. I loved how their relationship evolved organically, slowly. Their characters went through such a beautiful transformation

19. Favorite Book You Read in 2013 From An Author You’ve Read Previously
Entwined by Kristen Callihan (novella) I loved Winterblaze as well. These are part of her Darkest London series and if you haven’t read these paranormal historical romances yet, then you are seriously missing out. (Yes, they are paranormal, historical romances.)

20. Best Book You Read in 2013 That You Read Based Solely On A Recommendation From Somebody Else
The Raven Boys. My friend Laura told me it was awesome, and I moved it up on my TBR pile because of it!

25. Book That Was The Most Fun To Read in 2013
Losing It by Cora Carmack- I mean, Bliss is hilarious. And this was such a great New Adult. All steamy and fun without all the angst and heaviness.

26. Book That Made You Cry in 2013
Me Before You by Jo Jo Moyes

27. Book You Read that You Think Got Overlooked This Year or When It Came Out
I think everyone who likes paranormal romance would love Kresley Cole’s Poison Princess and Endless Knight. I am seriously dying for the third book to come out. I can’t wait. I didn’t hear a lot of about it when it was released, and I think it’s just because there are so many releases some of them get lost. But it’s one of my new favorite series this year.

That’s my list! Where is yours? πŸ™‚
