happinessproject-04Hi friends! Another month has gone!

January is the perfect month for starting fresh. These are more than New Years Resolutions but also January intentions.

There was a lot of change happening the end of last year and now is all about settling into a routine.

December was focused on Cultivating Relationships and I did fairly well. I did get Christmas cards out in a timely fashion and got to see a few friends that I don’t see on a regular basis. It also helped that this is the month for company Christmas parties. I got to catch up with a lot of lost yet familiar faces the last week before Christmas. I did not get to reach out too much to my friends from the East Coast but I did manage to grab a few of them on the phone. Lots of them have families so it’s harder to keep in touch with kids and all. I think I’m going to continue this in January too because I really liked talking to people and being social. It was good for me! Even Hubby came out to Christmas parties, after which he told me he was “exhausted.” Tis the season!

I want January to be focused a little more internally in – Priorities First. Mostly this has to do with New Years Resolutions.

What are my priorities? And why do they need to come first? Because somehow I find excuses everyday to put them aside. But not anymore!

1. Write – I want to write but first I have to clean dishes/make bed/go grocery shopping. Not anymore!

2. Read older review books – But this shiny one just came out and I need to… no! I need to enjoy what you have. This goes along with the Better Late Than Never Challenge.

3. Practice French – I say I don’t have time, but Gilmore Girls is taking up a lot of my evenings…

4. Piano/Guitar – I miss playing an instrument. Recently my piano teacher moved away and so I really haven’t had any reason/pressure to play. No excuses!

5. Knit more –  I do a podcast with my friend Thuy called Twisted Stitches. We started this because we love to knit and craft but also because we thought it would give us some much needed motivation to knit more. I’m excited that we’re continuing with the podcast and that I’ll be focusing on knitting more this year. For instance, I’ll be doing the 15 in 15 challenge which is 15 hats in 2015! One down…

6. Save Moolah! – I’ll be using the library more often, spending less money on books and eating out. There is going to be some traveling this year so I better save up!

So there are my priorities for January. What are yours?
